Biography
Jane Barnhill was born in Indiana in 1847 to Hugh Barnhill and Sarah Knapp. On 25 October 1865, she married Oliver Perry Taber, son of Samuel Taber and Jane Pope, in Marshall County, Indiana.[1] Oliver died 12 December 1869,[2] and Jane moved in with her sister-in-law, Mary (Taber) Shirley. The 1870 census shows them living in Mary's household with Mary's mother (Jane's mother-in-law) and Mary's twelve-year-old daughter, Sarah.[3]
On June 12 1874, Jane married her second husband, Leroy Sunderland Bronson,[4] son of Roswell Bronson and Eunice Jones. Jane and Leroy had five children:
