Biography

Louis Barré, the son of Jean Baptiste Barre (29 Sept 1723-20 July 1803) and Marie-Agathe LaRocque (19 APR 1728-11 May 1813), was born 11 Jan 1757 and baptized the same day at Chambly.^[1] His godfather was his grandfather Louis Barré and his godmother was Françoise Leblanc.^[1]

Louis Baré married Louise Monty (12 Sept 1762-28 March 1813), daughter of Gaspar Monty and Marie Therese Desnoyer, on 24 Apr 1780 at La Conception, in St Mathias, Rouville, Quebec, Canada.^{[2] [3]} Louis' father Jean Barre, his brother Jean Baptiste, his sisters Marie, Felicite, and Elizabeth Barre, his aunt Thérèse Barre, an uncle François LaRocque and several members of his new wife's family were present.^[2]
