Biography

Gilbert Dill is uncertain of who Mary Ann Barrett's parents were stating her mother "maybe Phoebe" and that her father "could be either Humphrey Barrett, Benjamin Barrett, Lemuel Barrett, or William Barrett"[1].

She married John Dill (son of Willam & Mary Dill) about 1747 in Kent County and together they had seven children[1]:

1) Archibald C. Dill (1748-1838) married Rebeckah Loftis
2) Richard Dill (1751-1839) married (possibly) Ann Loftis
3) Anah Dill married George Mitchell, Sr.
4) Enells Reynolds Dill (1757-1844) married (1) Elizabeth, (2) Evaline Hooper
5) John Dill Jr. (1759-1846) married Mary Ann Fisher
6) Stephen Dill (1765-1837) married Mary "Polly" (probably Pike)
7) Lydia Dill ( ~1767-1847) married John Abraham Randolph

Mary Ann died November 23, 1814 and is buried in Mush Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Greenville County, South Carolina.[2]
