Deaths Legrant Levi Barron Oct. 17, 1906-Feb. 9, 2000 The Monroe news Saturday Feb 12, 2000 POLK CITY, Fla. - Services have been set for Legrant Levi Barron, 93, of Polk City, Fla., formerly of Newport, who died Wednesday in Lakeland Regional Hospital, Lakeland, Fla. Friends may call from 12:30 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Allore Funeral Home, Monroe, with a Scripture service being held at 8:15 p.m. Sunday by the Rev. William Tindall, pastor of St. Charles Catholic Church, Newport. Services will be at 9:15 a.m. Monday in the funeral home, followed by Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Charles Catholic Church. The Rev. Tindall will officiate. Burial will be in St. Charles Cemetery, Newport. Born Oct 17,1906, in Newport, he was the son of Albert and Louise (Soleau) Barron. He married Louise Blanchette on May 27, 1927, in St. Charles Catholic Church. He was employed at Monroe Auto Equipment, Monroe, for 31 years. He was also a farmer and a member of St. Charles Men's Club. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Marion Duvall of Lakeland; two sisters, Mrs. Ann Zinner and Mrs. Pearl Smith, both of Monroe; two grandchildren, and three great- grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife and a son, Jerome.
