I think i remember Aunt Vera leaving her clocks the same and just going early or later, depending on the time of year.
A cousin says Aunt Vera's health tip is "Stay away from the doctor!" I guess just go when you have to is old wisdom.
Vera studied bookkeeping and followed this work all her life. She acted as a treasurer at her church and her Grange in Homer, Cortland, NY, USA.
She was active like many of the rural people of those days in the Grange:
Homer Grange Has Elected Officers (Homer Post newspaper 1943) Homer, Nov. 18, 1943—Homer Grange held an annual meeting last week and elected the following officers to serve for the coming year: Master—Hiram Marquis. Pomona; Connie Potter, lady assistant steward; Richard Baldwin, flag bearer.
It would not surprise me if she served as treasurer from the 1940s till the Homer Grange closed. I think it closed in the 1990s or early 2000s.
She is the daughter of Fred Bartlett and Anna Peacock. [1]
