Mercy Bartlett was born 10 Mar 1650 at Plymouth, Massachusetts. Her birth was noted in the Plymouth Colony Records (PCR 8:11).[1] She was the daughter of Robert Bartlett and Mary Warren and granddaughter of Richard Warren of the Mayflower. Mercy died sometime after 1677, when she executed a deed for land. A document by her sons in 1683 refers to her as by then deceased.[1]
On 25 Dec 1668, Mercy married John Joy, perhaps[2] the son of Thomas Joy and Joan Gallop, in Plymouth, Massachusetts.[3] Born on 10 Oct 1641 in Boston, Massachusetts, John passed away before 1678 in Boston, dying before Thomas Joy wrote his will 8 Jul 1677. [4] Their children include John Joy (30 Sep 1672-).
Note: The surname is Joy, although Jay was used in some records.[5]
↑ The Mayflower specifically says "perhaps the one, b. Boston ... 1641 ... son of Thomas and Joan (Gallop) Joy." Citing the fact that he was not named in the will of Thomas Joy in 1677. Neither was his son.

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Mercy by comparing test results with other carriers of her mitochondrial DNA.
Mitochondrial DNA test-takers in the direct maternal line:
Bartlett-3146 and Bartlett-304 appear to represent the same person because: These two seem to be the same. Or Mary is her sister Mary. The birth dates match on one pair, and the death dates match on the other pair (Bartlett-2036)
Bartlett-3146 and Bartlett-304 do not represent the same person because: Mary and Mercy are not the same name in this case, Death dates differ. Bartlett-3146 needs to merge with someone else.
