This profile is part of the Bartlett Name Study.
Hannah Bartlett was born in Newbury, Essex, Massachusetts around 1684. She was likely the daughter of Richard Bartlett and Hannah Emery.[1] Note however that this reference shows Hannah's birth date (dau. of Richard Jr.) as Nov. 11,1674 not 1684. This is presumed to be an earlier Hannah who died young, since our Hannah's death date in 1741 is recorded as her 58th year. Merits further investigation.
Hannah married John Ordway in Newbury, Essex, Massachusetts on Dec. 18, 1706.[2]
John and Hannah had 6 children born in Newbury, as follows: i) Hannah b. 9/8/1707 ii) Nehemiah b. 2/16/1711 iii) Mary b. 11/5/1714 iv) John b. 12/7/1718 v) Richard b. 6/29/1726 and vi) Richard b. 6/18/1727.[3]
Hannah passed away in Newbury on Oct. 2, 1741.[4]. Her husband survived her passing by a full 32 years.
