He was in Stark County North Dakota since 1885.
There he married Katie O'Leary from Cork and they had 7 children.
The following is from an email that Kathy Bartley Boutilier sent on Jan 29, 2002.
The next story will be about the youngest Bartley boy from Sligo, John
Joseph. I have had a very difficult time tracking him down. But, hereis what
I know.
John Joseph Bartley was born 1-16-1861 in Doonsheheen, County Sligo, Ireland.
He was married to Katie O'Leary from Cork. They were married in StarkCounty,
ND on 4-21-1891. Katie was born in 1869 and died in 1937.
I believe they had 7 children:
Mary Bartley, b. July 1893
Catherine Bartley, b. March 1895
Elizabeth Bartley, b. July 1897
Eleanor Bartley, b. April 1900, d. 1925
Margaret Bartley
John J Bartley
Francis Bartley

John came to America in 1885, and Katie in 1887. In 1900 they lived inDickinson Village, ND. John was listed as working as an engineer forthe Northern Pacific Railway.
