Biography

Willis was born about 1808 in Sampson, North Carolina. He is the son of Andrew Bass and Rebecca Pate. He passed away after 1860 in Barbour County, Alabama. He is last found in records on the 1860 census in Barbour County. [1]

Willis married Eliza Jane Tew about 1834, probably in North Carolina. However, a marriage record has not been found, and their oldest child Allen Bass was born about 1835 in Alabama.[2] They had children, all born in Alabama:
