Margaret (Unknown) Bass was part of a Southern Pioneer Family.
Lovewell may have been born about 1692, probably in Virginia. Her parents are unknown. She died after August 1750, possibly in Northampton County, North Carolina Colony.
Lovewell has been variously named as Margaret Lovewell, Margaret Lovewell Harris, Lovewell Rainwater. Her surname is unknown; no sources or documentation have been found to state with certainty what it was. It is possible she has been confused with Love Harris who married Edward's brother John Bass.
She probably married Edward Bass about 1718 in Nansemond or Norfolk County, Virginia Colony.
Lovewell is named in Edward's will dated 25 July 1748 and proved in Northampton County Court, North Carolina Colony, in August 1750.[1]

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Margaret by comparing test results with other carriers of her mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known mtDNA test-takers in her direct maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Margaret:
https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Unknown-520635 & https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Redley-1 Margaret , possible same Margaret and Edward. https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Buss-278 and https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Bass-445 Sources used on their pages are the same. I don't see a Moses listed as a child for the couple. Her last name has been referred to as Lovewell and Rainwater. What is interesting is visit Edward's page and the notes and sources being quite similar to what I uploaded here for this couple. An anyone that descends from this line repeatedly heard stories of "Native" plus the tax saying "Indian" on one and "Powhattan" being referenced then look up the history of the Nasemond tribe. Edward Buss possibly Edward Bass? No mention of a "moses". But that doesn't mean a definite no. There are many similarities between this couple and that one. What I'd like to see is Margaret's indentured service info to Caleb Butler and more on Edward of the early 1700s regarding the court records posted from Westmoreland County Virginia. Perhaps this "Riddle" riddle is closer to being solved? https://nativeamericanroots.wordpress.com/2015/05/22/the-nansemond-indian-bass-family-of-granville/comment-page-1/
Basse-63 and Harriss-29 appear to represent the same person because: Both married to Edward Bass; no information exists regarding her parents or correct surname. The only information known is that her given name is "Lovewell." She is named as "Lovewell Bass" in Edward's will dated 25 July 1748. Edward had only one wife. These profiles should be merged and then her LNAB should be set to "Unknown." It is likely that the surname "Harris" has been suggested by confusing the wife of Edward's brother John with Edward's wife. John's wife was named "Love Harris."

Edward's wife according to his will was Lovewell (Unknown) Bass. Her maiden name is unknown. Basse-63 is another name that has been attributed to Lovewell Unknown. Edward had only one wife, so these two profiles should be merged, but they should also have the LNAB changed to Unknown. Her birthdate also has to be reconciled before merging.
I am trying to correct her profile because it is connected to a proposed merge of her son that is incorrect

They both have the name Lovewell, albeit Margaret as middle name (almost unheard of then, unless Lovewell was her maiden name.
