When Benjamin Batchelder was born on September 19, 1673, in Hampton, New Hampshire,[1] his father, Nathaniel Batcheller, was 43 and his mother, Deborah Smith, was 28. Benjamin fought in the King William's War. He married Susanna Page on December 25, 1696, in his hometown.[2] Benjamin was a weaver and farmer. Benjamin died on January 12, 1718,[3] in Hampton, New Hampshire, at the age of 44. Susanna remarried.
The original birth record reads dob as 19:7th m 1673. Based on the old calendar system the 1st month was March, therefore his dob would be 19 September 1673.
Will of Benjamin of Hampton Jan 10, 1717/8 - June 30 1718, mentions eldest son Joseph, daughters Esther, Meribah, Susanna, second son Josiah, son Page, son Benjamin, son Francis, son Theophilus; "wife big with child". His first nine children were baptized in the Hampton Church, and the others in the Hampton Falls church which was formed in 1712.[4]
