Thomas was baptised in Wardington, Oxfordshire on 20th March 1831.[1] He was the son of Nicholas and Ann. His father stated on the register that he was a labourer.
Marriage
Thomas Bateman and Caroline West were married after banns in Chacombe, Northamptonshire on 8th November 1855.[2] They were bachelor and spinster and both of full age. Thomas was a sawyer living in Wardington and the son of Nicholas Bateman who was a labourer. Caroline was the daughter of William West who was a road surveyor. They each signed their own name on the register and the witnesses to the marriage were William West and ? Bateman.[3]
