Biography

John was born 16 Jan 1685. He was the son of Edward and Elizabeth (_______) Bates. He married Alice Shaw the daughter of Nicholas and Deborah (Fuller) Shaw. Together they had the following known children:

John died in February 1770.

Bates-10135 and Bates-4232 appear to represent the same person because: According to Chamberlain's History and Genealogy of Weymouth, the John Bates who was father of Abraham Bates (represented by profile Bates-10135) was born 16 Jan 1685, was known as Sergeant John Bates, and married Alice Shaw.
