Private Elijah Bates served with Suffolk County Militia, Massachusetts Militia during the American Revolution.

Elijah Bates was born on 2 December 1746 in Hingham. He was the son of Jacob and Mary (Clark) Bates.[1][2]

He married Chloe Tyler on 3 October 1767 in Attleboro, Bristol, Massachusetts[3]Children:

  1. George Bates
  2. Reuben Bates

Elijah died on 22 January 1821[4] in Thompson, Windham, Connecticut, USA

Bates-6060 and Bates-3838 appear to represent the same person because: Despite the dates (which on Bates-6060 are extremely vague estimates), the family tree of wife Chloe/Cloe Tyler shows they're clearly the same family.
