Unfortunately I do not think my gg grandfather William Preston Bates belongs to this line. I have distant DNA matches to Mary Elizabeth Tubbs, but no DNA matches closer than 4th cousin. Triangulation to prove a close relationship to Samuel Bates could not be done.
