Biography
According to Pembroke marriage records: "Caleb and Novice Thomas, Nov. 21, 1782, in Duxbury.*" [1] The asterisk indicates that: "* Intentions not recorded." This marriage is also recorded on the Thomas page: 361 [1]
In 1804, Nathaniel Smith of Pembroke was appointed guardian to his minor son Joshua Bates, who was above the age of 14 years.[2]
