Biography

George was born about 1908. He was the son of Lawrence Bates and Ada DuBois.

George's mother Ada May DuBois Bates passed away in March 21, 1908, perhaps due to complications from childbirth since George was born a month earlier. In the 1910 Census for Lenora, Norton, Kansas, George E. Bates (2) and his sister Letha were in the home of their grandmother and grandfather George E. DuBois and Isabelle Wilmot DuBois.^[1]

In the 1915 census George (age 7) was in Lenora Township, Norton, Kansas, United States in the household of his Grandparents George and Sophrona Isabelle DuBoise, Aunt Viola and Glen Shirling (unknown relationship) .^[2]

In the 1930 census George (age 22) was the single lodger of Willis Hendricks in Lenora, Norton, Kansas, United States.^[3]

In the 1940 census Geo (age 32) was the married head of household in Minneapolis, Hennepin, Minnesota, United States.^[4]

George, son of (mother's name Ada May DuBois) DuBois died (age 81) on April 30, 1989 residing in Orange, California.^[5].^[6]
