Abraham would later become the largest real estate owner and most extensive builders in Pittsfield, Massachusetts. He taught his grandson the old proverb, "Honesty is the best policy, the world over." Abraham was twelve when his grandfather passed away at age seventy-seven. The last words to his grandson were, "Take good care of the stock." The young grandson did indeed care for the thirty sheep, one yoke of oxen and other young animals until they were sold the following spring. [15]
