Biography
The 1911 Census states his birthplace as "Ganstead" just east of Hull. At this time his mother has re-married and he is living with her, his Step-father and the rest of the family at 1 Ashdene Villas, Brecon St, Hull.
in 1929 he Married Annie Black in Chapel-En-Le-Frith, Derbyshire.
The 1939 Register shows him living with Wife Annie at: Hope View Cottage, Townhead, Chapel-en-le-frith R.D., Derbyshire. His occupation is "General Labourer" with a DOB of 1st Dec 1904. Wife Annie has a DOB of 13 Jun 1909.
Research Note: The entry from the 1939 register above has been verified as there was only one Arthur Bateson born in the Dec Qtr of 1904.
