Delila (Betterton) Poe was born about 1787 in Spartanburg, South Carolina, daughter of Thomas Betterton (1750 - 1840).
Her brother was Henry Bailey Betterton (1810 - 1885).
Delila married Gilbert Poe (~1795 - 1879) on 2 Dec 1823 in Fayette County, Georgia, USA. Their children were:

- Nancy W (Poe) Monday (1826 - >1900)
- Charity Elizabeth (Poe) Mundy (1828 - 1916)
- Jesse E Poe (1830 - )
