William Batty, over 21, one horse. 150 acres on Claylick watercourse.
William Baty was living on Claylick Watercourse in Livingston Co., KY 1790 to abt 1820
In 1820 William is on the census of Grayson Co, KY.
But by 1823 the family had moved to Pope Co, IL where some of the children married (Mary in 1823, George in 1823, Margaret in 1825).
Mary's husband's Huddleston family all moved to Oregon County, Missouri in 1821, but John did not. They stayed a while longer in Illnois, probably to be near her parents. Her mother, Margaret as listed there as a widow in 1825. Her father, William may have died in KY or soon after their move to IL, but at least by 1825.
Their first 2 children were born in Pope County, IL.
It was about this time (1825-1828) that John and Mary finally followed the large Huddleston clan to south Missouri, bringing her widowed mother, Margaret (Hazel) Baty with them. They settled by the rest of his family near Thomasville in Oregon Co. The counties changed (from Wayne to Ripley to Oregon), but they never moved away from the Huddleston settlement near Thomasville. His parents and all of his siblings died there.
