I started researching my ancestors OCT 1969 and found most of them before the internet was invented. Y DNA has been used to correct errors in my Baucom, Kent, and Clark ancestors. I will help anyone that asks for it and correct errors made by others when there is documented proof.

Biography

I was born in 1931 in Colorado Springs Colorado. I am the son of James Baucom and Lois Kent who were born in Alabama, developed TB and came to Colorado in order to survive.

After four years in USAF teaching radar systems I attended CU Boulder, CO and received a BSEE. As an aerospace electronics engineer I was required to travel to many locations in the US which allowed me to research my various lines locally. I am a stickler for accuracy and do not copy the posts of others without researching and applying logic. I ran my own Y DNA project to disprove an assumption made on my Baucom line and worked with cousins on Y DNA for other ancestors. Having started my genealogy quest fifty plus years ago, I consider myself a highly experienced genealogist.

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships by comparing test results with Jim or other carriers of his ancestors' Y-chromosome or mitochondrial DNA. Y-chromosome DNA test-takers in his direct paternal line on WikiTree: It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Jim:

Hi J,

Thank you for the note and question!

Not sure what your asking as at WikiTree we have no place to enter a check list.

If your asking how to search for a name to see if the profile is already on WikiTree you use the search box at top of your or any profile by entering the first and last name or just a last name.

Thank you, David ~ Wiki Mentor

Thank you for the research on Hugh McWhorter. I know it's a mess, with a number of conflicting schemes. He is my direct ancestor through Benoni Powers.

Good Morning J,

Your thank you yesterday for the image on John Baucom Jr's page prompted me take another look at it. I realized I hadn't added a source to the image page, making the will harder to find that it had to be. That's now fixed, including a link back to John sr's profile.

So thank you for the thanks that triggered the thought which helped the profiles of both Johns be more useful. Collaboration moments like that are why I love WikiTree.

In your change to Meador-371 are you trying to say that Jonas Meador Jr had TWO daughters named Phebe or Phoebe born 4 years apart and who both married men named Edwards?

If you look at Cumberland Co, VA Chancery court case 1779-008, Micajah Compton & wife, et al VS Admr of Jonas Meador et al. This case names the heirs of Jonas Meador deceased.

They were: Micajah Compton and Anna his wife, John Minter Jr and Frances his wife, Thomas Kevil and Aggey his wife, Phobe Meador, Sarah Meador, Nancy Meador and Jane Meador, Caleb Hughes and Mary his wife, and John Fox Meador. At the time the case started Phebe, Sarah, Nancy, and Jane were not married.

After the case started, Nancy married David Bradley. Phoebe married Andrew Edwards. Sarah married Barnes Holloway. Jane married Charles Boatright. There was only one Phebe listed as heir to Jonas in this case. Here is a link to the Library of Virginia case. Hopefully it will make it will be more clear than what I am trying to say here. http://www.lva.virginia.gov/chancery/case_detail.

Please change your privacy level to "Private with Public Family Tree" to allow your Y-DNA results to be associated with your direct paternal line.

Thanks and sincerely, Peter
