Biography

A previous version of this profile confused her with the Elizabeth Baugh who married a John Myllard 30 Oct 1631 in Saint Chad, Shrewsbury, Shropshire, England[1] Exact source text follows:
. BUT that couple remained and had children in England long after the John Millard of Rehoboth emigrated.

Elizabeth was second wife of John Millard.[2] She died in April 1680 and was buried on 18 April.[3]

While Giddings notes...
"It is by no means certain that the Elizabeth Miller, who died at Rehoboth in 1680 was the wife of the first John Millard, Senior, as Savage (Vol. III, page 210), and other writers have assumed. The Colony record reads: 'Elizabeth Miller, the wife of John Miller, Senior, was buried the 18th of April.' (Plymouth Colony Records, Vol. VIII, page 74.) But this entry is admittedly a copy from the town record at Rehoboth, and the original reads: 'Elizabeth Miller wife of John Miller Buried 18 Aprill, 1680.' (Original Records of Rehoboth, Vol. I, page 55.) The Colony record may have been a correction, but also John1 Millard, called 'junior' in 1657, and for many years afterwards, may have been John Senior in 1680." (Page 247, Giddings) [4]
... the document cited for John2 Millard Jr. says his widow was alive in 1684.

Not sure how Elizabeth Baugh got connected with this John Millard. John Myllard and Elizabeth Baugh were married 30 Oct 1631 in St. Chad, Shrewsbury, Shropshire, England. Source: "England Marriages, 1538–1973 ," database, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:NNQ1-LPX : 9 March 2018), John Myllard and Elizabeth Baugh, 30 Oct 1631; citing St. Chad, Shrewsbury, Shropshire, England, reference , index based upon data collected by the Genealogical Society of Utah, Salt Lake City; FHL microfilm 1,701,330. They have several children christened there. The first was Sara Myllard christened 07 Nov 1632 and the last child I can find a record of is Nehemia Millward christened 16 Feb 1651 in SAINT CHAD,SHREWSBURY,SHROPSHIRE,ENGLAND.

I've detached her from the oldest Millard children. Unless we have a source for her LNAB, WE NEED TO CHANGE HER BACK TO unknown

What also is the source for this specific 1631 marriage?

We need to find a decent source for the claim of her maiden name. The most authoritative genealogy of John Millard of Rehoboth (published in 1959) names his second wife only as EliZabeth.

This profile is conflating two wives of John Millard of Rehoboth. His first wife and mother of his children through about 1650 is not known. Then about 1652, he married Elizabeth, mother of children born after that time.

It seems very unlikely that the same woman could have borne her first child in 1624 and her last in 1662. Even if she was extremely young (say 13) when the first was born, she would still have been over fifty when the last came along.

Elizabeth is one of my 10th Great Grandmothers! She is also the 9th Great Grandmother of George HW Bush.
