Jay Corwin Baxter was born on 30 Jan. 1892 at Readburn, Delaware County, New York, USA.^[1] He appeared on the census of 15 June 1900 in the household of his parents, Elkanah Baxter and Ola M. (Wood) Baxter, at Tompkins, Delaware County, New York.^[2] He appeared on the census of 22 April 1910 in the household of his parents at Hancock, Delaware County, New York.^[3] He was a railway mail clerk in 1917.^[1] He appeared on the census of 17 Jan. 1920 in the household of his parents at Hancock, Delaware County, New York.^[4] He witnessed the marriage of William Bougill and his sister, Blanche J. Baxter, on 28 Sep. 1921 at Binghamton, New York.^[5] He was a clerk at a steam railroad in when he appeared on the census of 9 April 1930 at Hancock, Delaware County, New York.^[6] He witnessed the marriage of Harold Fanning Ostrander and his sister, Alice Victoria Baxter, on 28 Jun 1938 at Hancock, Delaware County, New York.^[7] He appeared on the census of 11 April 1940 at Hancock, Delaware County, New York.^[8]

Jay died on 29 Nov. 1969 at Hancock, Delaware County, New York, at age 77 and was buried at Riverview Cemetery, Hancock, Delaware County, New York.^[9]
