Biography

Mary was born 24 September 1833 in Greene County, Tennessee, USA. Mary is the daughter of Hail Baxter and Mary Nancy Crawford who were married 1822 in Greene County, Tennessee.

Census Records.[1][2][3][4][5][6]

Mary married Eldridge Forrest Kincheloe on 29 January 1852 in Greene, Tennessee. Eldridge died in 1897. Mary never remarried after Eldridge died.[7][8][9][10][11]

Mary's husband, Eldridge served in the Confederate Army during the Civil War. He was a Private in Company H, 5th Regiment, Tennessee Calvary. He enlisted 6 August 1862 at Kingston. Eldridge surrendered 5 May 1865 at Jonesboro, Tennessee.

Mary filed 21 June 1907 to receive pension funds from her husband's military service. The service file record is #1597. This record contains information from Mary regarding Eldridge's military service, regiment assignment, service documents, marriage date and license, and their children. Witness statements were provided and also preserved in this document file.[12]

Mary passed away 12 October 1915, in Fall Branch, Washington County, Tennessee,[13]and is buried in Kincheloe-Hooper Cemetery, Fall Branch, Washington County, Tennessee, USA.[14]

1st note, Mary is known to be the daughter of Nancy Crawford, and not Agnes Bright. The bio needs changed to reflect this. The correct mother has already (previously) been changed in the header. 2nd note, I have been looking at Mary Jane Baxter (Baxter-2989) and Mary Baxter (Baxter-2629) and believe we have duplicate profiles. Both profiles have the correct parents (Hale Baxter & Mary Crawford) and a birth year of 1833. Both have correct siblings. Baxter-2989 contains the most information and sources, while Baxter-2629 contains very little info. Will you look/compare these two profiles and merge if in agreement they are in fact the same individual? Thank you for your time!
