Biography

Rose Madeline Baxter was born on 3 Dec. 1921 at Unadilla, New York, USA.[1][2] She appeared on the census of 4 April 1930 in the household of her parents, Wade Purdy Baxter and Gertrude M. (Mills) Baxter, at Walton, Delaware County, New York.[3] She appeared on the census of 10 April 1940 at Roseboom, Otsego County, New York, where she was working as a servant in the Charles Bush home.[4]

Rose married James Edward Martyn on 18 April 1941.[5][1]

She was in a house fire on 12 Aug. 1970 at 1323 First St., Rensselaer, New York that destroyed her home and killed her daughter Susan. Rose, her daughter Loretta, and a grandson, Clifton Diegel, were injured.[6]

In 1971 Rose lived in Rensselaer.[7]

Rose died on 10 Dec. 1995 at Napa County, California[2], at age 74 and was buried at Walton Cemetery, Walton, New York.[8]
