Biography

1. Ragsdale vs Cocke----1744 Richard Bland and Ann his wife, Edward Caldwell and Tabitha his wife, Sarah Royall, widow, and Elizabeth Ragsdale, widow filed complaint that in 1726 Edward Baxter, brother of the said Tabitha, Sarah and Elizabeth and uncle to the said Ann Bland was possessed of considerable estate. His Will states if his wife Elizabeth Baxter died without heirs, then to my heirs. The defendant intermarried with the above widow. She is now dead without issue. Slaves and increase should go to plaintiffs.
