Daniel fought in the Revolutionary War (1775-1783) Some 217,000 American service members fought in the Revolution, including in-state militias. More than 4,000 Americans died in the battle and some 6,000 were injured. He died of lockjaw on 9 Sep 1774. He was buried at Quincy burying-ground, Quincy, Norfolk County, Mass; "An honest man is the noblest work of God," is the inscription upon his tomb in the Quincy burying-ground.
