Sylvia was baptised on 14 March 1841 in Newland by parents James and Mary. The family were listed as living in The Forest of Dean and James was a Coal Miner. [1]
On 9 Dec 1860 Sylvia married James Smith in Parkend. The couple both lived in Lane End and James was an Engine Fitter, 11 years older than Sylvia who was 20. [2]
The couple had at least 2 children, Martha and James.
In 1869 the family emigrated to Pennsylvania. No more records can be found but the fact is noted on daughter Martha's census record.
