Biography

Birth

Mary, daughter of George Beale (labourer) & Martha Beale, was born 28 February and baptised on 28 March 1830 in Wadhurst, Sussex, England.^[1].

In the 1841 census Mary (age 11) was living with her parents George and Martha and four siblings: Elizabeth, George, Ann and James, in Langhams, Wadhurst, Sussex, England.^[2]

In the 1851 census Mary (age 21), a General Servant, was the unmarried servant of Benjamin Wickham in Grove Place, Goudhurst, Kent, England.^[3].

Mary Beale married Isaac Worsley in 1852 in Ticehurst, Sussex, England. ^[4]

In the 1861 census Mary (age 31) and Isaac were living with their daughters Mary and Ruth in Nettlestead, Kent.^[5]

In the 1871 census Mary (age 41) and Isaac were living in Croydon, Surrey, with their daughter Ruth Ann Worsley.^[6]

In the 1881 census Mary (age 52) and Isaac were living with their unmarried daughter Ruth and their grandson John in Southbridge Place, Croydon, Surrey. Isaac was a boot maker, Ruthe a dressmaker.^[7].

In the 1891 census Mary (age 61) was living with her husband Isaac and their grandson John Worsley (a shop boy) in Croydon, Surrey, England.^[8].

In the 1901 census Mary (age 71) and Isaac were living on Southbridge Road in Croydon, Surrey.^[9]

Death

Mary's death (age 75) was registered in the Jan-Feb-Mar quarter of 1906 in the Croydon district.^[10]
