NOTE: The birth date and parents of this Thomas Beaman are frequently used for the birth of Thomas Beeman, who married in Preston, Connecticut, about 1715, and died 1750 in Kent, Connecticut. This is highly unlikely, given the fact that he would have been 55 when he married, and 78, when he went from Preston to the wildernesss of Kent.

Biography

Thomas Beaman, son of Symon Beamon, was born 29th 10m 1660. (Dec. 29, 1660), in Springfield, Massachusetts.[1] Although the record does not state his mother's name, Simon was married to Alice Young in 1654.[2]

Thomas was living in 1682. There is no further record of him.[3]

Marriage record on Ancestry.com shows Thomas Beeman b 1660 married Phoebe Park b 1692 in Preston City, New London CT in 1712. This would make Thomas age 52 and Phoebe age 20 when they married. Source: U.S. and International Marriage Records 1560-1900, Yates Publishing, Ancestry.com, Provo, Utah 2004.

Thank you. Although it's possible I find this unlikely. Several Genealogies list this as truth and fact without providing proof or evidence other than a similarity of names. . Re: U.S. and International Marriage Records 1560-1900, is an unreliable source, it spits out what is contained in other works. Find a grave website shows Thomas Beeman 1660-1750 and wife Phoebe (Parke) 1692-1777 both in Kent Hollow Cemetery, Kent, CT and 9 children born between 1715-1737. This would indicate Thomas Beeman was 32 years older than he wife Phoebe Park. So this may be SAME Thomas b 1660, the son of Simon Beeman and Alice Young? Several of the children of Thomas & Phoebe Beeman also are in this Kent Hollow cemetery so perhaps they brought their elderly father & mother with them when they moved to Kent, CT area?
