Oma Bean is the daughter of William M. Bean and Mary "Polly" (Mauck) Bean, who were originally from Frederick County, Virginia, but migrated west to Winchester, Clark County, Kentucky, where she was born.
On November 7, 1847, in Winchester, Scott County, Illiniois, Oma Bean married Preston Peak (1820-1890).
The first four children of Oma and Preston were born in Winchester, Illinois, the next two were born in Independence, Missouri and the last in Merseville Illinois:
Mary Isabelle Peak, born January 7, 1849, married 1)John G. Sutherland and 2) S. Marelda Leverick.
James Frederick Peak, born July 17, 1850 married Sarah Bowling
Emily Jane Peak, born March 5, 1852, married Norman C. Morgan
Martha Ann Peak, born April 23, 1854, married Henry Winters Shuey
William Newton Peak, born December 2, 1866, married May Vanhoy
Hester Peak, born December 2, 1859, married Robert W. Austin
Moriah Eliza Peak, born April 1, 1864, married Weldon White
Oma was born in 1821. She passed away in 1890 [1][2]
