Biography
Charles was born in 1844 and baptised on 24 Aug 1845 at Haynes, Bedfordshire, the son of Joshua Beard and Elizabeth [1]
The death occurred on Saturday of Mr. Charles Beard, one of the pioneers of Gippsland, at the age of 74. He leaves a family of nine. Two of the sons, Sergeant E. S. Beard and Bombardier F. G. Beard, are now serving in France.[2]
