DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Joseph by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
Y-chromosome DNA test-takers in his direct paternal line on WikiTree:
After additional study, I have concluded the two profiles should be merged. Several inconsistencies could be resolved with a few reasonable assumptions.
I'm considering rejecting the merge but I want to look at it more. As I see it, the grave record matches the marriage of Joseph and Susannah Fischer. I have seen the marriage between Ida Louise Cox and Tom Beasley, but the birth and death dates don't belong to him. I haven't yet seen anything for the husband of Ida Cox to be any other than Tom. So I think tagging "Joseph Thomas to him is probably incorrect. I have another Joseph Thomas Beasley born about the same time in MO and the same birth and death dates are ascribed incorrectly. He married Lucy ? who died about 1800 then he remarried Susan or Susana E who has been conflated with Susannah Fischer. They have a different set of children. This will take some study.
