Biography

Joseph Beasley was the second son of Lois and Joseph Beasley of Northamptonshire. He was born in 1860 in Coventry. His father was a carpenter and joiner. The family emigrated from England to New Zealand when he was about three or four years old and settled in Northland. Joseph's father died in 1910 in Whangarei. Joseph had four brothers, one being adopted, and a sister, who benefited with him from his father's will.

Joseph was married on 3 March 1886 to Annie Blagrove.

His wife passed away in 1942, and on 26 August 1943 Joseph Beasley died at the age of 82. He is buried with his wife at Papatoetoe Cemetery in Auckland.
