Reuben was born about 1808 in Warren County, Kentucky, to William Beasley and Mary Ann Farr Beasley. He married Elizabeth Brown about 1829 in Humphreys County, TN. They are listed on the 1840 - 1860 censuses with at least nine children. He acquired land in Benton County in 1848 totaling 272 1/2 acres.[1] He died after the 1860 census was taken in Benton County, TN. [2] It is not known where he is buried.
Reuben died 1862, before 13 Mar. On that day was posted in court a ruling "to lay off & set apart one years support for the wife and family of Reuben Beasley decd..." The authority was assigned to J T Florence (likely father of Martha Ann (Florence) Beasley), Wm Hansel (likely father of Mary Ann (Hansel) Beasley), and William Castile.[3]
