Biography

Name

Ambrose Beasley alias Pitts. He appears in records both under Pitts and Beasley. Perhaps this is due to the fact that he was born out of wedlock to Ann Pitts who later married Richard Beasley (See below)

On 19 March 1728/9 the court presented his father for having a bastard child with Ann Pitts, whom he had just married. He confessed Judgm't to the church wardens of S't. Anns Parish for five hundred Pounds of tobacco & Caske or fifty shillings Curr't mony & costs, which he was ordered to pay.[1]

He served as executor of his father’s will in 1770. His children are identified from his father’s will. He died before 29 August 1794 in Nottoway County, Virginia.
