Biography

Samuel S Beson was enumerated at Newtonia Post Office, Van Buren, Newton County, Missouri for the August 20, United States Census, 1870. He was noted as born 1863-1864 in Arkansas as seen in this image of the original census. Also included in the household are male Samuel Beson, female Elizabeth Beson, male William R Beson, female Sarah M Beson and male John A Beson.^[1]

Sam Beason wed Nancy B. Woods July 7, 1887 in Yell County, Arkansas.^[2]

Samuel Beason was enumerated as head of the household in Ferguson Township Belleville town, Yell County, Arkansas for the June 4, United States Census, 1900. He was noted as a day laborer and born January 1872 in Arkansas. He had been married twelve years and was an owner as seen in an image of the original census. Also included in the household are wife Nancy Beason, daughter Lena Beason, son Walter Beason, son James M Beason, son Marion Beason, sister-in-law (niece-in-law) Hattie Peeler, boarder William M Collins and lodger Oscar Foster.^[3]

Samuel S H Beason was enumerated as head of the household at Charleston Road, Wittich, Franklin County, Arkansas for the May 4, United States Census, 1910. He was noted as born 1862 in North Carolina and had been married twenty-five years. He was a farmer on a general farm and a renter as seen in the image of the original census. Also included in the household are wife Nancy Beason, son Walter Beason, son Roe Beason, son Marion Beason, son Luther Beason and son Jessie Beason.^[4]

Sam H Beson was enumerated as head of the household at Wittich, Franklin County, Arkansas for the January 12, United States Census, 1920. He was noted as born 1864 in North Carolina. He was married, a renter and a farming as seen in the image of the original census. Also included in the household are wife Nancy Beson and daughter July Beson.^[5]

Samuel H Beason died in Franklin County as recorded in his November 10, 1926 Arkansas Death.^[6]

As listed in the Find A Grave Index,^[7] Samuel Holman "Si" Beason is buried at Lowes Creek Cemetery in Peter Pender, Franklin County, Arkansas.^[8]
