DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Anonymous by comparing test results with other carriers of his ancestors' Y-chromosome or mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Anonymous:

Peter/Anonymous, Thanks for taking the Pre-1700 Quiz!

Pre-1700 ancestors are shared by many descendants, thus coordinating with others is essential.

The seems to fit your ancestors: Scottish Clalns Project (Leader is Maria Maxwell). Click the link to read how to join.

Or use the Pre-1700 Projects list, located at the top of your page, 4th topic on right, under <Find> and <Projects>.

For questions, just ask!

Hi Peter. Welcome to WikiTree! I have Beatons in my family history as well.

Born in Leeds, Yorkshire in 1937. Now living in Australia.

Since I have no Australian born relatives other than my two children I do most of my genealogical work on-line.

I have traced my fathers family back to about 1750 in Scotland and my mother's back to 1697 in Yorkshire.

I am equally interested in female branches as well as the male. I am interested in relatives not family names.

Welcome Peter!

As a guest, you can search for your ancestors and participate in G2G, where you can ask questions that you didn't find an answer to in WikiTree Help (see the “Help” drop-down menu at upper right – for additional links that may be of use, please click my name and check out the links I list under my "Greeter" section - especially the Sources links and the links to my fellow greeters Debby and Maggie, who also have helpful information on their profile pages). If you would like to join WikiTree, and help with our mission of one tree, please read the Honor Code, volunteer, and post a comment on your profile page; we'll be glad to add you to the WikiTree community. Happy Hunting!
