Biography

John de Bello Campo alias John Beauchaump alias John de Beauchamp[1]

Sir John de Beauchamp, Knight was born between 20 January 1328 and 1329 at Stoke-Under-Hamden, Somersetshire, England[2]

John had two sisters:

  1. Cecily de Seymor alias Turberevyle, aged 30 or 40 years in 35 Edward III [1361];[1] and
  2. Eleanor married Sir John Merezet/Mereyet/Meriette/Meriet and they had a son;[1]
    1. John /MerezetMereyet/Meriette/Meriet, aged 15/6 or 18 years and more in 1361;[1]

John had no children himself.[1]

John died on 8 October, 1361, in Sp?[2]

In response to writs issued between 18 and 30 November, 35 Edward III, Inquisitions and/or Extents were held regarding John de Bello Campo in the counties of Wiltshire, Devon, Suffolk, Middlesex, Gloucester, Berks, Cambridge, Somerset, Dorset and Southampton. which found that John died on the Sunday after Michaelmas last or the Monday before st Luke, or the Wednesday after St Luke last or on the feast of St Michael "immediately before sunset", which was 6 or 7 or 8 October, 35 Edward III, and his heirs were his sister, Cecily aged 30-40 years and his nephew, John Merezet/Meriet/Meriette/Mereyet, aged 15-18 years, the son of his other sister Eleanor.[1] [3]
