Biography

John Beaulieu or John Bellew, de Bellew, alias BellaAqua Birth guess about 1235. [1]

John de Bella Aqua, son and heir of Sir Thomas de Bella Aqua, held the manor of Kirtelington, Nottinghamshire, England. [2]

Husband of Landerina (Bruce/Brus) de Beaulieu.

Inquisition on the lands and tenements which John de Bell Aqua held on the day he died, of the inheritance of Ladrana, formerly his wife, made at Estbrunne, on Sunday after the feast of St. Luke the Evangelist, 29 Edward (22 OCT 1301). [3]

He carried title as Lord of Carlton, I believe that honor came from his wife, daughter of Peter Bruce. As heiress she assumed the estate of Carlton, County York, as well as Kentmere. Please identify sources for John in Carlton. I did remove Carlton as a birth location. All signs point to him being located in the northern counties of Yorkshire, Durham, Cumberland/Coupland, Kendall region. He would certainly have to bring a pedigree that was satisfactory to Peter Bruce, Justice in Yorkshire and Sheriff of several regions. [4]

1272: After the death of Peter de Brus the dale of Kentmere was assigned to the pourparty of John de Bellewe (De Bella Aqua) and Laderina his wife, youngest of the sisters and co-heirs of the said Peter, received Kentmere and Carlton; Cal. Close R. 1272, pp. 4, 40. [5] — married ca 1260 Yorkshire, England.

1301: John de Bellewe held at his death the dale of Kentemer in Kendale (extent given) of the king in chief for the 6th part of a knight's fee; Nicholas, son of Isabel, daughter of the said John and Laderine his wife, sometime the wife of Miles de Stapleton, deceased, aged 15, and Joan another daughter of John and Laderine, aged 24, are his heirs; Cal. Inq., IV, 26.

1311: After the death of John de Bellewe, tenant by the courtesy of England after the death of Laderana his wife (dead in 1308) of inter alia the manor of Kentemere, of the inheritance of Nicholas de Stapleton, son and heir of Sibyl, one of the daughters and heirs of the said Laderana, and of Joan, wife of Aucher Fitz-Henry, another daughter and heir of Laderana.

Daughter Lucy Bellew is named with tie to his alias De_ BellaAqua in the attached image identified Donham families. This confirms the link of Lucy and the Alias, and Thomas Burgh who is included in the tree identified for Zouche, Beaulieu, Burgh, Bowett, Dunham, in Visitations county of Nottingham. [6]

Beaulieu-91 and Beaulieu-58 appear to represent the same person . Beaulieu-58 profile info is relatively good.

nothing on Beaulieu-91 is usefull, except that the spouse should be merged also. This was created 2 generations off the real one

Richardson has "de Bellew". I see other records have things like Bella Acqua.

Bellew-44 and Beaulieu-58 appear to represent the same person because: different spelling same name, same wife, same child, same time frame, disparity on date of death merge
