The wife of James Radcliffe of Manchester is frequently called "Margaret Beaumont;" however, their marriage record clearly names her as Margery Beamond. She was also buried as Margery Radcliffe.
She is also frequently said to be a daughter of Nicholas Beaumont and Anne Saunders. There is no evidence this is true, and in fact all records would indicate that Nicholas Beaumont did not have a daughter named Margaret or Margery. She has been disconnected from these parents.
Her LNAB still needs to be changed to Beamond.
Marriage
Marriage: 15 Nov 1573 Cathedral, Manchester, Lancashire, England
Parentage: Mary Beaumont(?) is frequently said to be the daughter of Nicholas Beaumont and Anne Saunders. No evidence has been found to support this.
Working against the identification:
The Visitations of Leicester give Nicholas Beaumont 4 sons and no daughters. This is not conclusive as Visitations sometimes omitted daughters.[5]
The History of Parliament Online gives Nicholas Beaumont 4 sons and no daughters. HoP is usually much better at searching all sources and stating the number of children a person has. However, HoP may have just been following the Visitations.[6]
Burkes states that Nicholas Beaumont had 4 sons and two daughters (Henry, Francis, Thomas, Huntington, Dorothy, Catherine), no Margaret.[7]
Her LNAB wasn't Beaumont. Her marriage record show James Radcliff married Margery Beamond on 15 Nov 1573 at Cathedral, Manchester, Lancs.[8][9]
