Research Notes
There is no reason to believe that George was born in Yorkshire. His father was reportedly killed at the battle of Towton in Yorkshire in 1461, but it may have been the previous year at Northampton. This puts an upper limit on George's birth year. Given that his brother John has a current birth year of 1450, am setting George's to 1455 pending more research. Given that the family were of Overton in Leicestershire, it is most likely there that George was born.
