William was born on May 19, 1918 in Rowan County, North Carolina. He was the son of Obe Beaver, and Cora Leazer. He married Sarah Pauline Myers, (marriage date is unknown), and they had several children during that union. He passed away on December 11, 2008 in Salisbury, North Carolina, and William is buried in the Enon Baptist Church Cemetery Salisbury, Rowan County, North Carolina.[1]

William Howard Beaver

SALISBURY - William Howard Beaver, 90, of Salisbury, died Thursday, Dec. 11, 2008, at Lutheran Home of Trinity Oaks.

Mr. Beaver was born May 19, 1918, in Rowan County to the late Cora Leazer Beaver and E.O. Beaver. He was educated in Rowan County schools and was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Army.

Mr. Beaver co-owned Park Avenue Grocery and retired from Cannon Mills. He was a member of Enon Baptist Church.

Mr. Beaver enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and the Atlanta Braves. He had a great sense of humor.

Mr. Beaver was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah M. Beaver, on Sept. 26, 1985, and by 11 brothers and sisters.

He is survived by his son, Dennis Beaver of Salisbury; and two daughters, Linda Beaver Willis and her husband, James, of Kingsport, Tenn., and Karen Beaver of Sarasota, Fla. Three grandsons, Kevin Willis of Atlanta, Ga., Alan Willis of Knoxville, Tenn., and Matthew Beaver of Albemarle; one granddaughter, Amanda Beaver of Albemarle; one great-grandson, Jackson Scott Willis of Knoxville, Tenn.; one sister-in-law, Mrs. Wendell Davis of Statesville; and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

Service: A funeral service will be held Sunday, Dec. 14 at 2 p.m. at Enon Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Kendal "Kip" Mobley. Burial will follow at Enon Baptist Church Cemetery.

Visitation: The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Saturday at Summersett Funeral Home.
