Biography

Romuald Beck is the husband of Anne Crescentia Fisher. Romuald and Crescentia had 11 children. Henry Bernard Beck is their son. Romuald came from Baden, Germany. Romuald died at age 80 of Lung Congestion/Leg Sarcoma. ^[1]

Romuald Beck came to America from Baden, Germany, where he was about 18 years old. About 1880 he and the family moved from Jasper, IN to Cincinnati, OH. He also made it possible for his brothers Albert and Francis Xavier to come to America. A sister of Crescentia Beck became a Sister of Providence, known as Sister Symphorosa. A niece and grand niece also became Sisters of Providence, known as Sister Matilda and Sister Helene respectively. All of the Sisters resided at their Mother House, St. Mary of the Woods, IN.

Familysearch.com says that Konstantin Beck and Magdelena Allgaier are the parents of Romuald Beck:

On 3/28/2014, Ray Niehoff, the great grandson of Otillia Schnetzer, who married Joseph Beck, said via. email to George Brundage that he has a copy of the immigration papers for Romuald Beck signed by the Grand Duke of Baden. Baden is on the West border of Germany on the French border. The area is known as Alsace Lorraine. Romuald Beck resided in Yorkville, IN, near New Alsace, IN, but locals pronounce it as "New Elsis" rather than the correct New AL'sance."

In a listing of the Descendants of Jacob Allgeyer, there is a citation MC13-PGR.

One record from familysearch.com ending in 7VC indicates that Romuald Bek was born in Fautenbach: Fautenbach, Buhl, Baden, Germany, and another record ending in 7VH indicates that Romuald Bek was born in Wagshurst, Achen, Baden, Germany.
