We the Grand Inquest for the county of Wilkinson, for October term, 1816, do after going through the business consigned to our charge at the present term, present as grievances, &c.
We lament as a grievance that Civil and Peace officers of this county do not more promptly execute the laws of our country in suppressing gambling, profance swearing & sedious Mobs which infest our streets and public places to the injury and confusion of our moral citizens. . . .
We present Samuel Beckum for profane swearing and abusing the present Judge Stephen W. Harris and the Grand Jury - witness Jon Rittles, Elisha Copland, John W, Mann.
