Jacob Bedell was born in 1707 in New Providence, Union Co., Province of New Jersey, son of John Bedell (~1684–1759) and Mary Linnington (~1687–~1750).
Jacob married Martha Lains (born in 1711). Their children were:
In the 1760 census Jacob was in Elizabeth, New Jersey.[1]
Jacob died on December 9, 1763 in New Providence, aged 55.
1761, Oct. 11. Bedell, Jacob, Sr., of Essex Co.; will of. Sons, John and Jacob, the plantation on which they live. Son, Benjamin, plantation where I live. Wife, Martha, and my sons, Daniel, Joseph and Michael, and my daughter, Martha Lains, my moveable estate. Executors—my sons, Absolom and John Bedell. Witnesses—Jonathan Elmer, Elnathan Cory, Daniel Cox. Proved Dec. 23, 1763. [2]
