Biography

Zacharia was born about 1785, plus or minus five years, from the census estimates. Zacharia Bedell married on 22 Dec 1810; citing Sussex, New Jersey to Margaret Cornelius.^[1] Only three of their children can be proven; Epheline (1811-1894), Cornelius (1814-1891) and Henry (1818-1855).^[2] Family history lists a son, Zacharia, Jr. who died on 4 April 1848 at age of 17 years.^[3]

The family was living in Oxford, Coshocton county, Ohio in 1820^[4] and 1830.^[5]

Family history says that Zachariah drowned in the Erie Canal on 2 August 1831 at the age of 43 years.^[6]
