Emigrated to NZ with her husband and his family, aboard the Bolton, arriving Nelson NZ in March 1842. She passed away in 1909 age 90 [1]
MRS LUCY ANDREWS. Another of our fast diminishing , pioneer settlers passed away on Sunday (writes our Wai-iti correspondent) !in the person of Mrs Lucy Andrews (relict of the late Mr Charles Andrews) | at the advanced age of 90 years. The deceased lady survived her husband by 21 years. The late Mr and Mrs Andrews arrived in Nelson by the ship Bolton in 1842, and settled at Brightwater, coming soon after to River Terrace, and finally to Foxhill 36 years ago. The immediate cause of death I was a severe attack of bronchitis, otherwise Mrs Andrews had always enjoyed good health up to a few months back. The surviving members of the family are Mr Frank Andrews, residing at Foxhill ; Mr Edwin Andrews, of River Terrace ; Mrs John Nisbett ; and Mrs J. Grainger, both of Foxhill. Two sons, Messrs Thomas and Alfred Andrews, died some 40 years ago. Tho interment takes place at Brightwater. [2]
