Biography

Rosa was born in 1887 on her family's farm in Berea, WV. She was the daughter of Eusebius Bee and Rebecca Hoff. She grew up there and dropped out of school after completing primary school. At the age of 15 in 1902, she married John Wesley Anderson in Salem, WV. She passed away in 1955. The couple moved to Bridgeport, IL where John had a blue collar job. Her brother Orazs was also working there and living with them in 1910. By 1920, they had returned to West Virginia, living with her parents in Wolf Summit where they and other family members had relocated. Her husband was a worker in an oil company. As the Depression took hold in 1930, John was unemployed and Rosa was managing a restaurant. Her husband passed away in 1932 (to confirm). The couple never had children. Rosa remained in Wolf Summit, and in 1940 had a job as a school janitor and had a niece and her children living with her. Rosa died at home in Wolf Summit from cancer in 1955. She is buried with her husband in the Odd Fellows (IOOF) Cemetery in Salem, WV.
